Officials: Freeport Teen Arrested in Connection with 2017 Gang-Related Murder

Roosevelt, NY - May 30, 2018 - The Homicide Squad reports the Tuesday, May 29 arrest of Josue Figueroa-Velasquez, 18, of Freeport in connection with a 2017 murder.  
 
According to police, on Thursday, October 19, 2017 an extensive search was conducted in a wooded area located at the west end of West Greenwich Avenue, Roosevelt. That search led to the recovery of human remains which were later identified as Angel Soler, 16, of Roosevelt.
 
Previously, on November 10, 2017, Homicide Squad arrested David Sosa Guevara, 26, of Wyandanch in connection with this crime. He was charged with Murder 2nd Degree. 
 
Josue Figueroa-Velasquez is being charged with Murder 2nd degree. He will be arraigned on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at First District Court, Hempstead.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
