The First Squad reports the Arrest of a Roosevelt man for Assault that occurred on Saturday, May 04, 2019 at 3:50 p.m. in Uniondale.
 
According to police, detectives responded to Nassau Rd. to apprehend a subject with an open warrant for a domestic disturbance. When subject Johan Yapor, 17, was approached, he attempted to flee, refusing to comply with the detectives’ commands. A short distance later, the subject fought with the detectives and flailed his arms violently. The subject was subdued and placed under arrest.
 
One detective suffered multiple back injuries. A second detective sustained injuries to his left shoulder. They were transported to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment.
 
Johan Yapor is charged with two (2) counts of Assault 2nd Degree, Resisting Arrest, Obstructing Governmental Administration and Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle 3rd Degree. He was arraigned on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at First District Court, Hempstead.
