NCPD: Woman Accused of Leaving Her Two Children, Aged 1 and 3, Unattended in Vehicle While Shopping at Valley Stream Business

The Fifth Squad reports the arrest of a Queens Village woman for an incident that occurred on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at 11:53 AM in Valley Stream.
 
According to detectives, Sandra Mclamb, 33, of 9339 Francis Lewis Boulevard, parked her 2008 Mercury Milan in the parking lot of Home Goods located at 750 W. Sunrise Highway. The defendant left her one-year-old son and three-year-old daughter in the vehicle unattended and entered the store. A witness observed the two children crying in the vehicle and called police. 
 
Upon police arrival the two children were removed from the vehicle. The defendant later returned to her vehicle and was placed into custody without incident. The children were transported to a local hospital for evaluation. They were released into the custody of a family member. 
 
Defendant Sandra Mclamb is charged with two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child. She will be arraigned on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
