An electrical fire that broke out in the basement of a Massapequa-based wedding salon during business hours on Sunday, March 30 thankfully resulted in no injuries, but caused the destruction of 200 dresses and minor smoke damage to the rest of the establishment, reports say.

While happy to hear that no one was harmed during the incident, the customers of Bridal Reflections - located at 3 Broadway - were understandably alarmed about the large number dresses stored in the basement that were lost to the fire, which began at approximately 3 p.m.

However, owner Anthony Micary has assured hthe public that all of the destroyed dresses were only samples, and that none of his customer's dresses were harmed at all.

"We inspected everything, just out of an abundance of caution, we put them in new garment bags so the customers' dresses are safe," Micari said to News12 Long Island.

Upon quickly arriving at the scene following 911 calls - which were placed when after the fire alarm was activated and smoke was seen emanating from the store's floor - first responders were able to control the blaze within 30 minutes.

The Coffee Grind, a neighboring business, were also impacted by the fire, officials say, although the shop's owner later posted on Instagram that the establishment suffered no damage, nor was anyone hurt.

Two other businesses in the strip mall - One Central Lounge and Rafco - did suffer damage and are currently boarded up.
