Mineola, NY - March 28th, 2016 - The Major Case Bureau reports the details of a bank robbery that occurred at 9:23am on Saturday, March 26, 2016 in Mineola.

According to Robbery Squad Detectives, defendant Monroe Williamson, 28, of Park Avenue Garden City Park entered the Chase Bank located at 216 Old Country Road and produced a demand note for US currency.  

The female teller victim, 44, complied and the defendant fled the scene in an all Island Taxi from the Mineola taxi stand. The Hempstead Police Department was notified and Officers located the defendant at Washington and Burr Avenue where he was placed into custody without incident at 10:05am.

Proceeds were recovered. There were two employees and one customer in the bank at the time of the robbery. No injuries were reported.    

Defendant Monroe Williamson is charged with Robbery 3rd Degree and will be arraigned as soon as medically practical.
