Long Island Builders Institute To Host 30th Trade Expo

Over 100 Exhibitors Will Showcase The Latest Building Products & Services; LI Home Buidlers Care To Build & Donate Backyard Dog Dens To Local Veterans & Veteran Organizations.

The Long Island Builders Institute (LIBI), the region’s largest advocacy association for the homebuilding and remodeling industries in New York State, will be hosting their annual  Long Island Builders Expo on April 11th, 2024 from 3:00 – 8:00PM at the Long Island Hilton in Huntington.

The Expo will feature over 100 exhibitors showcasing the latest technology and innovations in building products and services.  The show will be free to the trade and the public. Also in attendance will be representatives from town building departments in Babylon, Brookhaven, Hempstead, Huntington, Islip, North Hempstead, Riverhead, Oyster Bay, and Smithtown, as well as Suffolk County Consumer Affairs, who can answer building related questions from attendees.

Prior to the start of the Expo, LIBI CEO Mike Florio will moderate a panel discussion titled “Exploring Long Island’s Housing Crisis.”

Panelists will include:

  • Babylon Supervisor Rich Schaffer
  • RuthAnne Visnauskas, Commissioner of New York State Homes & Community Renewal
  • Gwen O’Shea, President & CEO of Community Development Long Island (CDLI)
  • Dan Lloyd, Founder & President of Minority Millennials
  • Steven Krieger, President of B2K Development
  • Steven Dubb, Principal of Beechwood Homes

The panel luncheon starts at 1:30 and is $40 for LIBI members and $50 for non-members.

Additionally, Long Island Home Builders Care (LIHBC), the charitable partner of LIBI, is teaming up with LIBI’s Remodeling Council to donate three custom backyard dog dens to Long Island veterans and America’s VetDogs / Guide Dog Foundation. LIHBC is also landscaping and donating exercise equipment for America’s VetDogs to use for a dog park, with compliments of Jay Ratto of Jay Ratto Landscaping & Joy Schonholz of Young Equipment.
