PSEG Long Island Storm Update: Power Restored to 97% of Long Islanders After Thursday Morning's Thunderstorm

Thursday Morning's Thunderstorm caused over 102,000 Long Islanders to lose power.

Uniondale, NY - February 26th, 2016 - Of PSEG Long Island’s more than 1.1 million customers, just more than 102,000 lost power as a result of the damaging storm that passed through the service territory Wednesday night and Thursday morning.

  • As of 5:30 a.m. ET Friday, the utility has restored service to more than 97 percent of its customers that lost power
     
  • 1,760 of those customers that lost power prior to 10:00 a.m. ET on Thursday remain out
     
  • PSEG Long Island’s crews will continue to have the support of out-of-state and off-Island crews and contractors throughout the day to restore power to its customers
     
  • We are appreciative of the patience that our customers have shown us as we work to restore power as quickly and safely as possible
