NCPD Seeking Suspect that Used Explosive Device on Vehicle Parked at North Merrick Residence

The Arson Bomb Squad is investigating a Criminal Mischief that occurred on Sunday, February 5, 2023 at 5:30 am in North Merrick.
 
According to Detectives, an unknown male subject threw an explosive device onto the front of a white 2016 Cadillac Escalade that was parked in the driveway of a residential home on Sherman Avenue. 
 
The device ignited, causing front-end damage to the vehicle. 
 
The subject fled eastbound towards Park Avenue on foot. No injuries were reported at scene.
 
The subject is described as a male wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt.
 
The investigation is ongoing.
