Man Arrested for DWAI Drugs After Colliding into ATV with Two 16-Year-Old Riders

Suffolk County Police have arrested a Center Moriches man for driving while ability impaired by drugs following a motor vehicle crash involving an ATV in Center Moriches yesterday.

The ATV operator, a 16-year-old female, and her 16-year-old female passenger were transported with non-life-threatening injuries to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue.

Center Moriches, NY - February 1, 2017 - Suffolk County Police have arrested a Center Moriches man for driving while ability impaired by drugs following a motor vehicle crash involving an ATV in Center Moriches yesterday.

Sean Nolan was driving a 2000 Ford Explorer northbound on Ocean Avenue at the intersection of Red Bridge Road when his vehicle collided with a 2006 Honda ATV, which was traveling on Red Bridge Road, at approximately 4 p.m. The ATV operator, a 16-year-old female, and her 16-year-old female passenger were transported with non-life-threatening injuries to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue.

Nolan, 23, was arrested and charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs 1st Degree and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana. Nolan was held overnight for arraignment today at First District Court in Central Islip.

The Ford and ATV were impounded for safety checks. The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call Seventh Squad detectives at 631-852-8752.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
