Elmont, NY - February 1, 2016 - The Homicide Squad reports the details of a fatal vehicular accident that occurred at 7:35am on Monday, February 01, 2016 in Elmont.
According to Detectives, a female pedestrian, 12, from Elmont, was walking east across Elmont Road at the intersection of Village Avenue when she was struck by a 2013 Nissan Rogue travelling southbound on Elmont Road. The vehicle was operated by a male, 38, from Far Rockaway who did remain on scene. The female victim sustained internal injuries and was transported to Franklin General Hospital. She succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced at 8:52am by Dr. Hoang. The vehicle was impounded for brake and safety inspections. There is no criminality at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
