NCPD are investigating an attempted kidnapping in West Hempstead.

West Hempstead, NY - January 18, 2019 - Third Squad detectives are investigating an incident that occurred on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at 7:18 p.m. in West Hempstead.
 
According to detectives, a 24 year-old female was walking with her 1 year-old male child in a stroller on Fulton Ave. An unknown male, described as black with a thin build, 30-35 years old, jumped in front of the stroller and grabbed the child.
 
The complainant struggled with the subject at which time he threw the child victim to the pavement, causing scrapes to his face and a large contusion on his forehead. The subject then fled on foot in an unknown direction. He was wearing a black NIKE baseball cap with white lettering and a brown winter jacket at the time of the incident.
 
The victim was transported to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment.
