The Long Island Nets, the NBA G League affiliate of the Brooklyn Nets, will celebrate its parent team during the group’s annual affiliate night this Saturday, Jan. 14.

Throughout the evening, the LI Nets will honor the Brooklyn Nets in a variety of ways including LI Nets players wearing co-branded Brooklyn/Long Island Nets jerseys. The jerseys, sponsored by Kevin Spann Allstate Insurance, were designed to resemble the Brooklyn Nets 2022-23 NBA City Edition uniforms and following the game will be auctioned via The Players Trunk with proceeds going towards Real Men Wear Pink, an American Cancer Society fundraising campaign.

Additionally, the first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a co-branded Brooklyn Nets/LI Nets reversible bucket hat and the Brooklyn Nets’ entertainment teams, the Brooklynettes and Team Hype, will perform specialty routines during the game. “Saturday’s game is an opportunity to celebrate and honor our parent team, the Brooklyn Nets,” said Alton Byrd, Senior Vice President of Growth Properties at BSE Global, the parent company of the Brooklyn Nets and Long Island Nets. “The Long Island Nets were created to develop the next generation of talent for Brooklyn and I am confident we are walking in our purpose while having fun along the way.”

The Long Island Nets started NBA G League play as Brooklyn’s affiliate during the 2016-17 season. Brooklyn’s 2022-23 roster features 12 players with NBA G League experience and three players that have played with the Long Island Nets this season -- David Duke Jr., Kessler Edwards and Day’Ron Sharpe.

The LI Nets affiliate night tips off this Saturday, Jan. 14, at 7 p.m. in a matchup against the Grand Rapids Gold. Tickets are available for purchase at www.longislandnets.com.
