Cheapest auto insurance in Long Island?

Just moved from the west coast to Long Island and in need of a car.
Any suggestions as for who to use for insurance? Any local companies you guys recommend?

guess this place is a ghost town :(
anyways, geico, progressive, allstate, etc. all proved to be too expensive
just wanted to share that "local" company New York Motor Insurance really hooked me up
(i say local cause they are actually located in Manhattan in soho, but they service Long Island too, apparently).
6 month policy for $450
i am in no way associated with this company, but I just wanna share a good deal when i see one - their url is http://www.newyorkmotorinsurance.com for anyone interested

Thanks for sharing about the cheap auto insurance! I wish I had a recommendation for you earlier this week - car insurance is quite expensive on LI, that's for sure.

If you're a veteran or child of a veteran USAA is phenomenal.

i use geico -- i pay like 80$ a month, and im 30 years old. but i also have great credit so that could be why :P

i have a friend who works for an insurance agency who can right fit in into the right insurance company for you and make sure you get all the coverage you should have.
I alos have a friend who does sales for Optimum if any of you guys have Fios he has a really good friends and family promotion to offer you guys to buy you out of contact.
