The Nassau County Police Department reports the arrest of a West Hempstead
man for Driving While Intoxicated (Leandra’s Law) for an incident that occurred on
Monday, December 11, 2023 at 3:52 pm in Lakeview.
 
According to Police, Officers responded to Eagle Avenue for an auto accident
where a 2017 BMW traveling eastbound struck a parked 2013 Honda Pilot and
overturned. The BMW was occupied by a male driver, 37, and his juvenile son, 7.
Both the driver and passenger extricated themselves from the vehicle prior to police
arrival. Subsequent to the investigation, the driver was arrested without incident for
Driving While Intoxicated. The male juvenile was injured and transported to a nearby
hospital for treatment of his injuries. He was released into the custody of a family
member. No other injuries were reported. The vehicle was impounded.
 
Defendant David Isaacs of 718 Wren Court was charged with Driving While
Intoxicated, Aggravated DWI Leandra’s Law and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
He will be arraigned on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 in First District Court 99 Main
Street, Hempstead.
