Garden City-based Armao, Costa & Ricciardi, CPAs, P.C. has welcomed Felipe Sabino, CPA, to the firm. Sabino, a resident of Brentwood, New York, is a Senior who is responsible for audit and financial reporting for clients that include labor unions, privately owned businesses and not-for-profit organizations.

Sabino previously held the position of senior auditor at the Hauppauge firm of Wagner and Zwerman LLP. During his three and one half year tenure, he prepared audits, reviews and compilations for retirement plans, benefit plans and not-for-profit organizations. Among his other duties were tax return preparation and annual filings for labor unions, benefit plans and not-for-profits.

Earlier in his career, Sabino was a supervisor at the Lake Success accounting firm of Abrams, Herde and Merkel, LLP. In addition to developing and managing the firm's benefit allocation department, he conducted labor union payroll compliance audits and reviews to determine compliance with collective bargaining agreements.

Sabino, who is a member of the New York State Society of CPAs and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from SUNY College at Old Westbury, where he was the recipient of multiple honors. Fluent in Spanish, Sabino is a board member of the Brentwood Touchdown Club, a group of Brentwood High School alumni who played football and now award scholarships and trophies to the current generation of players.

Sabino and his wife Angela, an assisted living administrative assistant, are the parents of four year old Christian. A native Long Islander, he has been a third baseman and outfielder for the Island Softball League for over fifteen years and a defensive lineman for the Long Island Flag Football League for the past six years.
