This weekend, Long Island has number of fall festivals going on. There’s SeptemberFest that will be complete with beer samplings, the 9th Annual Fall Festival on the Lake at Michael P. Murphy Beach, Valley Stream Community Fest, the Fall Festival at St. Margaret’s Church and the 170th Annual Long Island Fair at Old Bethpage Village Restoration. Other entertainment going on this weekend include a musical performance at NYCB Theatre at Westbury with the country-folk-rock band Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and Western swing band Asleep at the Wheel, the high energy show Life in Color – “The World’s Largest Paint Party,” an antique automobile show in a historic setting and an exhibit from East Hampton Historical Society showcasing the impact of the 1938 hurricane that hit Long Island through images rarely seen before. FRIDAY – SEPTEMBER 28, 2012

Who: SeptemberFest: Beer Tasting In Oyster Bay
Info: It’s Life Enrichment Center at Oyster Bay’s 1st Annual SeptemberFest! Join for a sampling of Brooklyn Brewery’s beer. There will also be music and food. Tickets are available for advance purchase and may also be purchase at the door. Proceeds go to benefit LECOB After Hours program. You must be 21 or older to attend.
Cost: Ticket covers 4 beer samples. $12 for Advance Ticket; $15 for Ticket At The Door

Who: Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and Asleep at the Wheel Appears at NYCB Theatre at Westbury
Info: The American country-folk-rock band Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and nine-time Grammy award winning Western swing band Asleep at the Wheel join together for a performance that you don’t want to miss. 
Cost: $39.50 to $59.50

Who: Life in Color – “The World’s Largest Paint Party”
Info: Formerly known as Dayglow, Life in Color brings a spectacular show complete with high energy music, art, dance and paint. It features DJs, soaring aerial acts, stilt walkers, contortion acts, fire shows and cannons delivering the famous “Paint Blast.”
Cost: $50

SATURDAY – SEPTEMBER 29, 2012

Who: 9th Annual Fall Festival on the Lake at Michael P. Murphy Beach
Info: Lake Ronkonkoma Civic Organization brings the 9th Annual Fall Festival on the Lake. There will be food, vendors, children’s activities, crafts, entertainment, fishing, a petting zoo, pony rides and more. The rain date is Sunday, September 30.

Who: Valley Stream Community Fest 2012
Info: Valley Stream Community Fest is an event organized to highlight the community culture of Valley Stream. It’ll have a display of different cuisines, live music, kid activities, food vendors, craft vendors and more.

Who: Fall Festival at St. Margaret’s Church
Info: The annual Fall Festival at St. Margaret’s Church offers fun for all attendees. There are quality vendors and crafts, flea market finds, delicious baked goods, take-home meals and on-site food grilling. There’s also a gift raffle basket with an offering of 75 gifts. The rain date is Sunday, September 30.

SUNDAY – SEPTEMBER 30, 2012

Who: New Exhibit - The Long Island Express: Rare Photographs Of East Hampton After The 1938 Hurricane
Info: The East Hampton Historical Society’s offers a new exhibit with over 125 rarely seen images of the impact of the 1938 hurricane to hit Long Island. The hurricane pictures were discovered tucked away in two family photo albums. Images have been enlarged for exhibition. The exhibit is available through October 8.
Cost: No Admission – Donation Appreciated

Who: 170th Annual Long Island Fair at Old Bethpage Village Restoration
Info: This is the last day of the 4-day fair. Stop by to enjoy a ride on the ferris wheel, an animal show, food, games and more.
Cost: $15 ($8 for seniors age 60+ and Free for children under age 5)

Who: Antique Automobile Show at Hallockville Museum Farm
Info: The Antique Automobile Show is sponsored by the Peconic Bay Chapter of the Antique Automobile Club of America. Stop by to see vintage automobiles and trucks. The rain date is Sunday, October 7.
