Hicksville, NY - September 2, 2014 - Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano today announced that as part of his FitNassau Initiative and in recognition of Childhood Obesity Awareness Month, Nassau County will be hosting a free family-friendly Maximum Boot Camp at Cantiague Park on Sunday, September 21st and Sunday, September 28th. There will be six classes each day, three at 10:00 a.m. and three at 11:00 a.m.

Maximum Boot Camp is a fitness and weight loss program for adults. Realizing the need for a brighter and healthier future, the trainers at Maximum Boot Camp felt it was important to create a program for children. Maximum Kids Club is the start of something new and ingenious for our kids, families and schools to promote health for our kids with the support of our community and school systems.

Maximum Kids Club is a series of Life Size Fitness Board and Card Games that teach our kids in a FUN and exciting way how to eat right, exercise, and perfect cognitive skills necessary for academic performance! Exercise for many kids can be boring and weight loss for kids can be even more torturous; but playing a game with colors, Life Size cards, boards, dice and more can be very fun and challenging. The best way to get our kids on the right path to fitness, weight loss and eating right is to allow them to do what they do best and that’s playing! Why not tap into that natural desire of our kids to play and at the same time provoke learning, thinking, and fitness.
