Twelve People Arrested at Sobriety Checkpoint

The Suffolk County Police Department, assisted by the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office, arrested twelve motorists during an overnight sobriety checkpoint in Patchogue.
 
Police officers from the Suffolk County Police Department’s Highway Patrol Bureau SAFE-T Team conducted a joint sobriety checkpoint operation with Suffolk County Deputy Sheriffs at Waverly Plaza, from 10:55 p.m. last night until 2:30 a.m. this morning. The checkpoint was part of an holiday weekend enforcement crackdown targeting alcohol and drug impaired driving. A total of 569 vehicles went through the checkpoint.
 
The following were charged with Driving While Intoxicated:
 
• Nadine Barbera, 67, of 196 Malts Ave., West Islip
• Domingo Lantigua, 40, of 426 Raft Ave., Holbrook
• Carlos Villa-Naranjo, 29, of 265 S. Ocean Ave., Patchogue
• Gershon Jean Pierre, 34, of 132 Connecticut Ave., Bay Shore
• Ian Mastrandrea, 31, of 6 Westwood Court, Dix Hills
• Jose Garces-Delgado, 22, of 1 Justin Drive, Medford
• Nehemias D. Garcia, 38, of 172 Hartford Drive, Coram
• Marissa L. Crouse, 29, of 1214 South St. Apt. A1, Utica
The following were charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs:
• Jamal Castma, 22, of 1721 Central Blvd., Bay Shore
• Christopher Taveras, 24, of 1824 Brightshore, Bay Shore
• Armando Visbal, 26, of 332 Clubhouse Drive, Patchogue
• Shania Langhorn, 34, of 42 Lakeview Drive, Riverhead
• Marissa L. Crouse, 29, of 1214 South St. Apt. A1, Utica
 
The above arrestees will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on May 25.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
