The New York Lottery has confirmed that a winning ticket for the Mega Millions drawing held on Friday, April 14, has been sold in New York, setting a new record for the state. The ticket, which was purchased in Ozone Park, Queens, matched all five numbers and the Mega Ball, making it worth a staggering $476 million.
 
After taxes, the jackpot's cash value in New York City is $156.7 million. The winning numbers for the draw were 23-27-41-48-51, and the Mega Ball was 22. The ticket was bought at Liberty Beer & Convenience located at 93-18 Liberty Ave.
 
The Mega Millions game involves drawing numbers from a field of one to 70, with the Mega Ball being drawn from a separate field of one to 25. The Mega Millions drawing takes place every Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m. and winning draw game tickets expire one year from the draw date.
 
The previous record jackpot of $437 million was won by New Life LLC of Huntington on Long Island on January 1, 2019. Goodtimez LLC of New York held the second-highest jackpot prize of $432 million.
