Discover Long Island partners with MTA for exciting Ryder Cup-themed activation in GCM concourse.

Discover Long Island, the region’s only accredited  destination marketing organization, in partnership with MTA, the largest transportation network in North America, is celebrating one year of Long Island x Manhattan connection through Grand Central Madison by launching a golf-inspired activation at the GCM concourse. As warmer weather approaches, tourists head out east, and eyes shift to Long Island’s iconic Bethpage Black golf course ahead of the 2025 Ryder Cup, Discover Long Island is working to turn the gears of excitement on GCM travelers to hop on the LIRR and take a trip to our beautiful and welcoming world-class destination.
 
Starting 8:30 a.m. on Monday, March 4, travelers through the GCM Concourse will be met with lively Discover Long Island staff, Discover Long Island banners and travel inspiration guides, a putting green, chances to enter an exciting giveaway, and much more, all in efforts to educate travelers about the Long Island region and professional golf’s grandest stage, The Ryder Cup, which will be calling Long Island home, come September 2025.
 
By either downloading the Discover Long Island app or testing their putting skills on Discover Long Island’s traveling putting green, individuals will be entered into a giveaway for a chance to win an overnight stay at the beautiful Gurney’s Montauk Resort.
 
“There is so much excitement behind this activation between Discover Long Island and MTA,” said Discover Long Island President & CEO, Kristen Reynolds, CDME. “In 2025, for the very first time, the largest and most prestigious international golf competition in the world will be played on Long Island and with this convenient connection to our region through Grand Central Madison, the ease for fans and travelers to get out to our region and enjoy that event in 2025 as well as all that Long Island has to offer year-round, has never been easier.”
 
This activation will take place Monday, March 4th – Friday, March 8 | 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
