; it is situated in Cairo, Egypt. The museum of Egyptian Antiquities is generally known as the Egyptian Museum. It has 120,000 items, with a representative amount on display, the remainder storerooms. The royal mummy room of the museum consist 27 royal mummies from pharaonic times, on the orders of President Anwar Sadat the museum was closed in 1981. In 1985 it was reopened with a slightly curtailed display of New Kingdom and queens in 1985. Now days there are 9 mummies displayed. Queen Hatshepsut is one of them newly discovered mummy. The Egyptian Museum of earlier times contains numerous important pieces of ancient Egyptian history. It has stores the world's largest collection of Pharaonic antiquities, and many treasures of King Tutankhamen. In 1835, the Egyptian government established the museum near the Ezbekeyah garden.

is an unreal creation, which is original from ancient Egypt. It combines the body of a beast with the face of the ruling pharaoh. As per Greek mythology a sphinx was made up with the head of monster, breasts of a woman and the body of a lion, and having wings of a bird. The location of Egyptian sphinx, where there was a once large quarry, to the south of Chephren's pyramid. Chephren's workers molded the huge stone into the form of a lion and they carved their kings face into it; almost 5,000 years ago.
