New Cassel, NY - December 30th, 2013 -  The Third Squad reports the details of an Attempted Robbery which occurred on Sunday, December 29, 2013 at 7:45 P.M. in New Cassel.

According to detectives, a male victim, 24, drove to Bramble Lane to meet a female he met on the social media site “TAGGED”.  The victim met the female and while outside his car was approached by a male black in his mid twenties armed with a black handgun.  The suspect told the female to leave and demanded the victim get in the car and drive to an ATM to get money.  On the way to a bank the victim saw a marked Nassau County Patrol Car at the intersection of Brush Hollow Road and Cantiague Rock Road in Westbury.  He pulled up next to the Officer at which time the suspect fled on foot southbound on Brush Hollow Road and was last scene in the parking lot of 100 Jericho Turnpike.  No injuries were reported.
