Police are searching for a man responsible for the attempted murder of a 16-year-old; a body was found floating in Hempstead Lake State Park.

Suspects Threw Rape Victim from Roof
Police say that two men sexually assaulted a 16-year-old girl in Brooklyn on July 14, and then threw her from the roof of a building. One man has been arrested and officials are still looking for the second suspect.

According to CBS News, 24-year-old Anwar Desouza is facing charges including rape, criminal sex act, attempted murder and assault. Desouza apparently lives at the building where the assault took place.

Meanwhile, police are still searching for 26-year-old Antonio Owensford, who allegedly took part in the crime as well.

Owensford and Desouza allegedly lured the teenage girl to the roof of a building on Miller Avenue in East New York around 4 a.m. on Sunday morning. The two then sexually assaulted the girl and threw her from the roof.

The girl was treated at Brookdale Hospital. Due to the nature of this crime, police have not released her name.

Body Found in West Hempstead
Officials are trying to identify the remains that were found on Thursday evening at Hempstead Lake State Park.

The body was found floating in the lake around 6:30 p.m. by a fisherman. According to News 12, the body was very decomposed by the time State Park Police were able to pull it out of the water.

The Nassau County medical examiner will perform an autopsy today to determine if the body is that of 28-year-old Catherine Brady, who has been missing since Father’s Day. Brady was living in the park in West Hempstead when she went missing three weeks ago.
