Update - 4:31 PM - The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for all of Long Island as a strong storm system will be approaching the Island late in the day on Christmas Eve, and into Christmas Morning. Long Island won’t be seeing a White Christmas this year, but it will be seeing a wet one! According to the National Weather Service, heavy rain will be affecting the Tri-State area on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, with the chance of thunder Christmas Eve and early Christmas morning. Temperatures are set to be in the 50s on both days.

The precipitation should be ending sometime Christmas morning leading to some sunshine in the afternoon. Christmas afternoon wind gusts will reach between 30 to 40 mph.
