Mastic Beach, NY -December 11th, 2014 - William Floyd High School senior Brianna Balzano (alto vocalist) has been accepted into the 2015 All-Eastern Treble Voice Chorus to be held in Providence, Rhode Island from April 9-12, 2015. Brianna was one of 810 of the most musically talented high school students selected to receive this honor from the eastern region of the United States.

Senior Rebecca Engel (soprano vocalist) was selected as an alternate. To qualify, these gifted students must have participated in the NYSSMA (New York State School Music Association) All-State Music Conference the previous year.

“Receiving an invitation to All-Eastern is a prestigious honor that very few students in the entire eastern region of the country receive,” said Ryan Feldscher, lead music teacher, William Floyd School District. “The prospect of sending two students this year is a testament to the strength of our chorus program, and our entire department of music education at William Floyd.”

Congratulations to Brianna, Rebecca and their chorus teacher, Barbara D’Orio!
