New Play Festival

So apparently the Little Theater next to the Tilles Center shows readings of new plays before they go on a bigger stage. I think it's supposed to be a way for the writers to get some feedback on their work and make some tweaks as they see fit, but it's also a great way to see what's on the horizon at little expensive. My group only spent $5 a head to see this new show called Billy Witch, which was sort of an awkward coming of age story set in a peculiar summer camp that grows increasingly fantastic as the show progresses. Even though the production was low budget-- well, I guess "no budget" would be a better way to describe it-- the actors put on a great show and had us splitting our sides the whole time. The play is a little out there (I'd explain why, but that would ruin some big surprises) and filled with some fairly adult humor (definitely not one to take the kids to), but I'd keep an eye out for it if you want a good laugh.

Wow, that's really cool. It seems like a great way to enjoy an evening out, and save a few bucks.

Does the Tilles Center sell tickets online for these performances like their regular shows, or is it first come, first serve?

I didn't see anything online, but I'm pretty sure you can call the theater and reserved tickets ahead of time.
