The National Weather Service in New York has issued a Wind Advisory...which is in effect from 4 PM this afternoon to 4 PM EST Saturday. * Locations...southeast New York...northeast New Jersey and southern Connecticut. * Hazards...strong winds. * Winds...northwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts 45 to 50 mph. * Timing...tonight into Saturday afternoon. * Impacts...the strong winds may down some tree limbs and power lines...and make driving high profile vehicles difficult...especially on elevated roadways and bridges. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Wind Advisory is issued when sustained winds of 31 to 39 mph... or gusts of 46 to 57 mph...are expected or occurring. Winds this strong can make driving difficult...especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution. , "Special Statement" An area of snow is quickly approaching Long Island from the south. An additional inch or two is possible through 9 am. In the mornings, many Long Islanders will grab a cup of coffee and run to work. But, we should all stop and get a taste ...

Sometimes Long Islanders need to take their breakfasts more seriously. In our busy schedules, we forget about enjoying a hearty breakfast. A focal point of breakfast would be waffles. There are many types of waffles and many ways to enjoy them.

Waffles can be traditionally enjoyed with some butter and/or syrup. Waffles can also be enjoyed with with chicken. Waffles even have adapted to be enjoyed with ice cream on top of it, or made very thin and rolled into a cone to put the ice cream in. Some people like waffles so much, they turn their potatoes into waffles for waffle fries. 

So, if you aren't in a rush in the morning, slow down and stop at one of the great waffle restaurants located on Long Island.
