You just do not become a writer, you fall into experiences in life that give you something to write about. Mix that with some imagination, and before you know it, you will be a writer.
Anybody who loves to write is a writer. Whether they make money at it or not is another matter.
You have many interesting stories to tell, of course change the names of people and places to protect the innocent. (LOL) means Laugh Out Loud
Keep a journal, that is a great way to write.
Have fun with your writing and share with your friends, I am sure they want to read what you have wrote. Be true to yourself and your writings, that will make you more of a writer than you could ever imagine.
