Pongo is one of the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter’s hidden gems... a dog, like many, who shouldn't be judged by his kennel behavior.
Pongo is one of those dogs that you must meet OUT of the kennel to realize how amazing and special he really is. Poor Pongo came to the shelter after being abandoned and picked up by Animal Control. Pongo displayed signs of neglect, clearly never had been in a loving home.
Pongo is in need of a loving home.
Pongo is only 4 years old, and is definitely ready to find his forever family! He quickly won over the hearts of staff and volunteers who realized his great potential. Pongo isn’t too happy in the kennel and due to his extreme arousal, it is very hard to get him adjusted. Simply put, Pongo needs to find a loving home, and find it FAST. Please consider Pongo, but remember, don't judge him inside his kennel... you have to meet Pongo outside to see just how awesome he really is!!
