SCPD takes a zero-tolerance approach for anyone driving under the influence and placing the public in danger.

Yaphank, NY - December 29, 2015 - Suffolk County Police Deputy Commissioner Tim Sini and Chief of Department Stuart Cameron will announce a crackdown on motorists driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol on New Year’s Eve at a press conference on December 31 at 10:30 a.m. at Police Headquarters in Yaphank.

As part of the continuing effort to keep Suffolk County roadways safe and free of intoxicated drivers, the Suffolk County Police Department will have additional officers on patrol on New Year’s Eve. Police officers throughout the police district will be involved in this initiative.

Suffolk County actively enforces DWI laws and takes a zero-tolerance approach for anyone driving under the influence and placing the public in danger. Department officials will offer tips to remind drivers of safe alternatives to getting behind the wheel while impaired or intoxicated.
