Your new date night dinner spot is open in Garden City. Everything from the setting and decor to the menu is getting high marks from reviewers online for this Italian restaurant.

This is the second location of ITA Kitchen. The original opened in Bay Shore in 2019. According to an article in Patch, ITA Kitchen owner and chef Salvatore Sorrentino first set out on his own with ITA Kitchen after working at Andrea's 25 in Commack for his brother and cousin.

The antipasto dishes include their Tableside Mozzarella, handmade warm mozzarella, sliced tomatoes, ricotta, prosciutto, and roasted peppers and Shrimp Christina oreganata style with pesto in white wine sauce. Their “skinny Italian” options include a Sweet Chili Salmon, an  8 oz. broiled filet with spinach, heirloom tomatoes, and artichoke hearts in sweet chili garlic sauce (gluten free). They offer a Homemade Ricotta Gnocchi on the pasta menu in truffle cream sauce or sausage meat sauce with toasted breadcrumbs.

It’s really not just for date night. Large groups and parties are invited to reserve space for a private event.

On Yelp, Ted D, from West Hempstead, gave it five stars.

“Food is great. Service is excellent,” he said. “Parking a bit of a problem. All and all on our go to Italian restaurant list!!!!”

Danielle K, from Garden City, took off one star for the uncomfortable seats but otherwise loved it.

“New and a nice surprise. Interior has some nice floral displays and lots of black interior finishes for a little drama,” she wrote. “I found the chairs uncomfortable, metal and small, and I'm not a large person. That's the extent of my list of complaints, the service was excellent and the food was very delicious and flavorful.”
