Suffolk DA: Five Arrested In Alleged MS-13 Gang Kidnap-Murder Plot To Be Arraigned Today

Suffolk County, NY - December 20, 2017 - Five suspects with alleged ties to the MS-13 street gang who were arrested December 6 in Brentwood for trying to coerce a teenage male into a van will be arraigned on an indictment in the First District Courthouse in Central Islip today (Wed. Dec. 20) before State Supreme Court Justice Fernando Camacho.
 
Defendants Miguel Rivera, 20, Oscar Fuentes, 18, 17-year old Lilliana Villaneuva, 18-year-old Vidal Contrera-Ortiz  and Jorge Bermudez-Cedillos, 18, were indicted by a grand jury last Friday, December 15. 
 
Suffolk police charged each defendant with conspiracy in the second degree after the attempted abduction.
 
Other than Miguel Rivera, the defendants are Brentwood High School students.
 
Justice Camacho will call the court calendar at 9:30 am.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
