The Public Information Office reports a Fire that occurred at 8:10pm on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 in Woodbury.
According to Police, Officers responded for a fire inside a home in Woodbury. The fire had occurred when a Menorah candle accidentally fell onto and ignited the tablecloth; the fire spread to a chair. The Officer entered the home with his fire extinguisher and was able to extinguish the fire; no injuries to the residents were reported.
Nassau County residents are reminded when burning any candles inside their homes to use safe practices including placing candles on heat resistant surfaces, only burn in well ventilated areas away from drafts and vents, don’t move a burning candle and never leave a burning candle unattended.
