The Long Island Nets, NBA G League affiliate of the Brooklyn Nets, will spread holiday cheer this Friday, Dec. 8 by surprising eight local Long Island families with a shopping spree at the Levittown Target at 3850 Hempstead Turnpike.
 
The eight families with children ages 7-17 were identified through Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Long Island, a not-for-profit organization that has served the Long Island community for more than 40 years through developing and implementing a wide range of mentoring programs.
 
The surprise happens at 6 p.m. In attendance will be Long Island Nets Players Long Island Nets General Manager J.R. Holden, and Long Island Nets Head Coach Mfon Udofia.
 
About the Long Island Nets
The Long Island Nets are the NBA G League affiliate of the Brooklyn Nets. The team started NBA G League play during the 2016-17 season and presently plays its home game at Nassau Coliseum on Long Island. The Nets have reached the postseason three times and won one Eastern Conference Championship, reaching the NBA G League Finals in 2019.
