Pedestrian Killed in Bay Shore Motor Vehicle Crash, According to Authorities

Bay Shore, NY - October 25, 2018 - Suffolk County Police Third Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a pedestrian in Bay Shore on Wednesday, October 24.
 
A female pedestrian was in the roadway of Fifth Avenue when she was struck by a 2018 Toyota HRC that was traveling southbound on Fifth Avenue at approximately 10:30 p.m. The driver of the Toyota, Derrick Clarke, 38, of Bay Shore, remained on the scene and was not injured in the crash.
 
The woman, whose identity has not yet been confirmed, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner. The Toyota was impounded for a safety check.
