NCPD reports the arrest of Taffarie Haughton of Freeport, 18, for a Robbery that occurred on Thursday, October 5, in Roosevelt.

Roosevelt, NY - October 9, 2017 - The Gang Investigation Unit reports the arrest of a Freeport man for a Robbery that occurred on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at 5:30 p.m. in Roosevelt.
                             
According to Detectives, Taffarie Haughton, 18, came to the home of the victim’s friend and requested to speak with her. When the victim came to the door, the defendant, who is an acquaintance, held a black handgun with a red laser to her head and demanded her belongings.
 
When she refused, the defendant grabbed her phone out of her hand and broke it on the ground. The defendant then fled on his bike. When the defendant returned to his residence on October 6, he was placed under arrest.
                             
Defendant Haughton is charged with Robbery 1st Degree and Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree. He will be arraigned on Saturday, October 7, 2017 in First District Court 99 Main Street Hempstead.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
