Two Oyster Bay Men Arrested After Allegedly Caught Red-Handed with Garbage Bag Full of Other People's Mail

Defendants Joseph P. Cusick, 48, and William J. Glennerster, 47, are charged with eight counts of Petit Larceny and eight counts of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property.

Second Squad Detectives report the arrests of two (2) Oyster Bay men for Petit Larceny and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property that occurred on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at 4:00 am in Mill Neck.
 
According to detectives, Brookville Police observed two (2) men in the vicinity of West Shore Road and Cleft Road.  Mail theft has been an ongoing problem in the area.  The officer stopped the individuals and questioned their conduct.  The officer observed a black trash bag containing mail in close proximity of the two (2) men.  Mail from 18 different residents was recovered.
 
A thorough investigation was conducted.  Joseph P. Cusick, 48, of 127 S. Street and William J. Glennerster, 47, of 127 S. Street were arrested without incident.
 
Defendants Cusick and Glennerster are charged with eight (8) counts of Petit Larceny and eight (8) counts of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5th Degree. They were issued Appearance Tickets returnable on 10/27/2023 to First District Court, Hempstead.
