WFAN-AM/FM and AM 970 the Answer to Broadcast NY Islanders Regular Season and Playoff Games on the Islanders Radio Network

Islanders games will also continue to be simulcast on WRHU 88.7 FM & LI News Radio WRCN 103.9 FM. The team's season opener against the New York Rangers is on Oct. 13.

Brooklyn, NY - October 5, 2016 - Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment and the New York Islanders have named WFAN-AM/FM, the most-listened-to sports radio station in the nation, as a broadcast partner of the Islanders Radio Network.  WFAN-AM/FM will broadcast 30 games during the regular season on 660 AM and be simulcast on 101.9 FM, starting with the team’s home opener on Oct. 16.

AM 970 The Answer will also join the Islanders Radio Network and will broadcast 52 regular season games, starting with the team’s 2016-17 season opener against the New York Rangers on Oct. 13.

The two stations will alternate broadcasting Stanley Cup Playoff games.

In addition, the Islanders will be extensively promoted on each station through commercial spots, email marketing and social media.

WRHU 88.7 FM and LI News Radio WRCN 103.9 FM will also continue to simulcast each game throughout the regular season and playoffs as part of the Islanders Radio Network.

Veteran broadcaster Chris King will return for his 24th season on Islanders radio broadcasts, serving as play-by-play announcer. In addition, Greg Picker will return for his 2nd season as the team’s color analyst.

Boomer Esiason and Craig Carton, popular hosts of WFAN’s Boomer & Carton Show, will call the Islanders’ Nov. 30 matchup against the Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins from Barclays Center.

For the seventh consecutive season, Islanders radio broadcasts will be heard on Hofstra University’s station, WRHU 88.7 FM, which stretches throughout Nassau County and parts of Suffolk County. WHRU 88.7 FM will simulcast on LI News Radio WRCN 103.9 FM, which reaches Suffolk County. The broadcasts will also air on Sirius XM Satellite Radio and the NHL Gamecenter app.
