Three Juveniles in Police Custody after Allegedly Stealing Bicycle from Teenaged Victim

The subjects knocked the victim off of his bicycle, causing damage to the wheel, and then took the victim’s bicycle leaving theirs behind before fleeing scene.

The First Squad reports the arrest of three juveniles for a Robbery that occurred on Sunday, October 1, 2023 at 6:17 pm in Merrick.
 
According to Detectives, a male victim, 13, was riding his OM Flyer bicycle on Merrick Avenue where he was approached by three male juveniles ages 14, 15 and 16 riding their own bicycles. The subjects knocked the victim off of his bicycle, causing damage to the wheel, and then took the victim’s bicycle leaving theirs behind before fleeing scene. No injuries were reported. 
 
A short time later, the male subjects were located on the platform of the LIRR Train Station and placed into police custody. The bicycle was recovered and returned back to the victim.
 
Two juvenile defendants are being charged with Robbery 2nd Degree and Grand Larceny 4th Degree and will appear at Nassau County Family Court, 1200 Old Country Road, Westbury on Monday, October 2, 2023. One juvenile defendant is being charged with Robbery 2nd Degree, Grand Larceny 4th Degree and Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree. He will be arraigned on Monday, October 2, 2023 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
