Stephen Clemente, 44, allegedly neglected and abandoned a 2-year-old female Pit Bull Terrier named Shadow outside the Brookhaven Town Animal Shelter while it was closed.

Suffolk County SPCA Detectives charged a Lake Ronkonkoma man on September 26, 2023 with animal cruelty and abandoning a severely emaciated 2 year old female Pit Bull Terrier
 
Roy Gross, Chief of the Suffolk County SPCA said that SPCA officers charged Stephen Clemente, 44, of Lake Ronkonkoma, NY, after an investigation discovered that Clemente neglected Shadow and abandoned her outside the Brookhaven Town Animal Shelter while it was closed on the morning of September 8, 2023. The canine was severely emaciated with ribs and bones protruding.
 
Clemente is scheduled to appear in First District Court, Central Islip, NY on October 16, 2023.
