Homeless Man Breaks into Syosset Home, Robs Large Amount of Marijuana at Gunpoint, NCPD Reports

The Second Squad reports the arrest of a homeless man for a Robbery that occurred on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at 12:05 AM in Syosset.
 
According to detectives, on Monday, September 2, 2019 at 11:25 PM, two male subjects forced their way into a house located on Lincrest Street and got into a physical altercation with an adult male victim residing inside; one of the subjects displayed a pistol and hit the victim over the head with it. The two subjects then took a large amount of marijuana from the residence before exiting the house and entering a grey sedan before fleeing in an unknown direction. The victim refused medical treatment at scene. 
 
An investigation was conducted that led to the identification of one of the subjects as Rory Watkins, 35 years old. The defendant was located on Harrison Street and arrested without further incident. During the investigation it was discovered that defendant Rory Watkins was also involved in a Robbery that occurred on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at 8:30 PM in Sara Place, Hicksville; in which a firearm was displayed to steal multiple vape pens from an adult male victim who had just purchased them from the defendant.
 
Defendant Rory Watkins is charged with two counts of Burglary 1st degree, two counts of Robbery 1st degree, Grand Larceny and Petit Larceny. He was arraigned on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
