19-Year-Old Arrested for Firing Six Shots at 18-Year-Old Sitting on Front Porch of His Home

Xavier Moor, 19, of Hempstead, was arrested on Sunday for firing gunshots to 18-year-old sitting on front porch of his home on August 30, 2016.

Hempstead, NY - September 19, 2016  - The Major Case Bureau reports the details of a shooting that occurred in Hempstead on Tuesday, 08/30/16 at 10:47 P.M.

According to detectives, Xavier Moore, 19, of Hempstead, fired six gunshots at a male victim, 18, who was sitting on the front porch of his home located on Stewart Ave. in Hempstead.  The subject then fled the scene.

The victim, who sustained a gunshot wound to the leg, was transported to a local hospital where he required surgery to repair his fractured leg.

Hempstead police officers located the defendant on Sunday, 09/18/16 on Terrace Ave., where he was placed under arrest.  Moore is being charged with Murder 2^nd Degree (Attempt), Assault 1^st Degree, Criminal Use Firearm 1^st Degree, two counts of Criminal Possession of Weapon 2^nd Degree, and Reckless Endangerment 1^st Degree.  He will be arraigned on Monday, 09/19/16 in First District Court, Hempstead.
