19-Year-Old Arrested for Firing Six Shots at 18-Year-Old Sitting on Front Porch of His Home

Hempstead, NY - September 19, 2016  - The Major Case Bureau reports the details of a shooting that occurred in Hempstead on Tuesday, 08/30/16 at 10:47 P.M.

According to detectives, Xavier Moore, 19, of Hempstead, fired six gunshots at a male victim, 18, who was sitting on the front porch of his home located on Stewart Ave. in Hempstead.  The subject then fled the scene.

The victim, who sustained a gunshot wound to the leg, was transported to a local hospital where he required surgery to repair his fractured leg.

Hempstead police officers located the defendant on Sunday, 09/18/16 on Terrace Ave., where he was placed under arrest.  Moore is being charged with Murder 2nd Degree (Attempt), Assault 1st Degree, Criminal Use Firearm 1st Degree, two counts of Criminal Possession of Weapon 2nd Degree, and Reckless Endangerment 1st Degree.  He will be arraigned on Monday, 09/19/16 in First District Court, Hempstead.
