NCPD: Second Suspect Arrested in Connection with Deadly Valley Stream Shooting Incident

The Homicide Squad reports that a second arrest has been made in connection with a Homicide that occurred on Monday, August 21, 2023 at 8:23 p.m. in Valley Stream.
 
According to Detectives, Fifth Precinct Officers responded for a disturbance that occurred at a vacant store front, located at 85 Ocean Avenue. Upon arrival, Police observed a 12-year-old male with a gunshot wound to his shoulder, a 17-year-old female with a laceration to her hand, and a 20-year-old male - identified as DeAndre Carter, 20 of Brooklyn m-with a gunshot wound to his chest. All three victims were transported to a local area hospital for treatment. 
 
Carter was pronounced deceased at 9:05 p.m. by hospital staff. A short while later, two 17-year-old male victims, arrived at local hospitals seeking treatment for gunshot wounds to their legs.
 
Further investigation revealed that a then-unknown subject(s) fired multiple rounds while on 131st Ave and then fled on foot in an unknown direction. 
 
On September 7, Homicide Squad Detectives reported the arrest of Kyle Matthews, 21, of 922 Smith Street, Uniondale. He was charged with Murder 2nd Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree.
 
Homicide Squad Detectives now also report the arrest of Kenny Greene, 23, of 169-02 144th Road, Jamaica, NY by the Nassau County Police Bureau of Special Operations (BSO) with the assistance of the NYPD Queens South Violent Gun Suppression team on September 15.
 
Defendant Kenny Greene is charged with Conspiracy 2nd degree. He was arraigned on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
 
The investigation is ongoing.
