Great Neck Man Arrested for Assault with Kitchen Knife Following Verbal Argument with Step Son-in-Law

Great Neck, NY - September 14, 2016 - Third Squad detectives report the details of an arrest for an assault that occurred in Great Neck on Tuesday, 09/13/16 at 7:30 P.M.

According to detectives, Yong Lin, 60, of Great Neck, while involved in a verbal argument with his step son-in-law grabbed a kitchen knife and attempted to stab him.  The victim, 33, put his hands up to block the knife and sustained a laceration to his hand.  The defendant then continued to stab the victim once in the torso.

The victim, who sustained non-life threating injuries, was transported to a local hospital by private auto and is listed in stable condition.

Third Precinct police officers arrested Lin in front of his residence.  He is being charged with Assault 2nd Degree, Possession Dangerous Weapon 4th Degree and will be arraigned on Wednesday, 09/14/16 in First District Court, Hempstead.
