Melville-based Comtech Telecommunications has received $9.2 million for equipment designed to provide quick and mobile satellite communications for both classified and unclassified material to military in the field.
The company has received $74.9 million to date toward this three-year $124.2 million communications equipment and support contract.
The money is being used for what’s known as AN/TSC-198A SNAP or Secret Internet Protocol Router and non-classified Internet Protocol Router equipment and support.
The Secret Internet Protocol Router Networkis a system of interconnected computer networks used by the U.S. Department of Defense and the U.S. Department of State to transmit classified information.
Comtech CEO Fred Kornberg said this is an example of the fact that Comtech is a “preferred service provider for our deployed soldiers.”
Comtech designs, develops, produces and markets products, systems and services for advanced communications uses.
