Yaphank, NY - August 12, 2015 - On Friday, August 7th, Suffolk County Legislator Sarah Anker attended the Long Island Farm Bureau’s 5th Annual Celebrate Grown on Long Island Day at the Suffolk County Farm in Yaphank. The one-day Farmer’s Market brought attention to the produce, wines, and seafood produced and harvested across Suffolk County. “The partnership of Cornell Cooperative Extension of Suffolk County and the Long Island Farm Bureau's Grown on Long Island Day provides a wonderful way to sample local produce and experience what our farms provide to Suffolk County,” said Legislator Anker. “As one of New York State's largest dollar producer of agricultural products, Suffolk County farms are vital to our local economy.”
