Suffolk County Police on Wednesday, June 25 arrested a home health care worker for stealing and using the debit card of a former patient.
Lexus Stewart was previously employed as a home health aide for an 82-year-old Bethpage woman. After the victim was admitted to a rehabilitation center in Oakdale, Stewart’s services were no longer needed. Stewart visited the woman at the center on May 12, 2025 and stole her debit card.
Stewart withdrew $500 from the victim’s account and later returned the card back into her wallet. Following an investigation by Financial Crimes Unit detectives, Stewart, 28, of 165 N. 26th St.,
Wyandanch, was charged with Grand Larceny 4th Degree and Identity Theft 3rd Degree.
