Nassau County Executive Laura Curran has announced a new initiative to get shots into County employee’s arms. Starting today, the Nassau County Department of Health is setting up vaccination pods in multiple County buildings to vaccinate employees and their families on site. To encourage participation, employees who are vaccinated at the events will be entered in a raffle to win $200, sponsored by Stew Leonard’s.
“I am proud of the progress we have made in Nassau County in getting residents vaccinated. Setting up designated sites for our employees to get vaccinated is just one more way to get even more people to protect themselves against COVID-19 and fight the Delta variant.  We will continue to work on innovative ways to get encourage anyone who is not already vaccinated to roll up their sleeves,” said Nassau County Executive Laura Curran.
“My family and I want to thank Nassau County Executive Laura Curran for setting up vaccination pods throughout the County. More than 90% of our Team Members at Stew Leonard’s are vaccinated, and we hope that workers and their families in Nassau County take advantage of this great opportunity to protect themselves, their co-workers, and their loved ones,” said Stew Leonard, Jr., President of Stew Leonard’s.
The vaccination events will be at multiple County offices, targeting all departments including Police, Sheriff’s office, Public Works, Department of Social Services, and more. The events which will offer both Moderna and Johnson and Johnson are open to employees and their families (18+).  The raffle will take place after second doses, and a winner will be selected from each location.
