Discover Long Island Announces New VP Of Marketing & Sales And Director Of Partner & Visitor Relations

Discover Long Island, the official tourism promotion agency for the region, has announced two significant promotions for their organization.

Long Island, NY - August 1, 2017 - Discover Long Island is excited to announce that Jamie Claudio, formally the Director of Brand Development, has been promoted to VP of Marketing & Sales and Nikki Theissen, formally the Partner Relations Manager, has been promoted to Director of Partner & Visitor Relations.
“We are thrilled to announce these two significant promotions for our organization,” said Kristen Jarnagin, President & CEO of Discover Long Island. “Both Jamie and Nikki are outstanding members of the Discover Long Island team and are helping to redefine the standards we set in place for our organization. Dedicated to enhancing our position in the global travel market, these new positions will boost department synergies and create new benchmarks as we head into 2018 and beyond.”
In her new role Claudio will oversee Discover Long Island’s Marketing and Sales initiatives including meetings and group travel, sports development, international travel and tour operations, as well as the organization’s marketing, advertising and public relations efforts. Claudio was instrumental in reintroducing the new Discover Long Island brand over the past year and her expertise in destination branding and communication will be a pivotal asset in marketing and measuring the destination’s awareness as a viable meeting, travel trade and sports option.
Nikki Theissen has worked diligently over the past four years to improve cooperative opportunities and strengthen relationships with Discover Long Island’s 500+ partners. As the Director of Partner & Visitor Relations she will continue to reinforce organizational messaging, provide educational experiences for businesses within the tourism industry and build community among our partners. Connecting partner and visitor relations allows for more streamlined brand messaging, ease of shared materials and an overall more cohesive approach to communication through these portals.
